Registered Massage Therapists have undergone extensive post-secondary education of structures of the body systems and its function. Your therapist will use a combination of Swedish massage techniques and more advanced techniques learned through continued education to assess your concerns and create a treatment plan just for you.
Lymphatic & Post-Op Massage Therapy
Lymphatic Massage Therapy is a very light and rhythmic stretching of the skin. It is done in a specific pattern that is designed to stimulate lymph flow and influence the affected tissue. This can help people with swelling associated with surgeries, lymphedema, lipedema, traumatic injuries, and pregnancy. It is also used for headaches, fibrosis, chronic pain, types of nerve compression, congestion and many other conditions. This treatment is provided by an RMT.
Post operative massage therapy can be used the same day as surgery or when you are well enough to travel to our clinic. There are many supportive techniques that do not come into contact with your surgical site but treat swelling and other areas of discomfort or altered function. As you continue to heal, your treatment is adapted for your stage of healing. Your therapist has advanced education in post-op care, as well as training specific for breast cancer surgeries. surgical complications, oncology support, gender affirming surgeries and scar tissue management.
Prenatal & Postnatal Massage Therapy
Prenatal massage can be done at any stage of your pregnancy. It helps to alleviate common pregnancy discomforts like back pain, muscle tension, headaches, and edema, while also promoting relaxation and reducing stress. Modified techniques and positioning will ensure comfort and safety for both mother and baby.
Postnatal massage aids in recovery from childbirth. Helping to ease muscle soreness, reduce swelling, breast feeding obstacles and support possible post-op care. Being a new parent is demanding on the body and we are here to help every step of the way.
